BATMAN:

THE AUDIO ADVENTURES

Enter the world of 'Batman: The Audio Adventures' - a thrilling audio drama series consisting of ten one-hour episodes. This captivating series, penned by Dennis McNicholas, features the voice talents of Jeffrey Wright, Rosario Dawson, and John Leguizamo. Originally conceived as an HBO Max exclusive, the lack of audio-only capabilities meant that a visual element was required.

As the creative force behind this project, I developed the concept, presented it to Jim Lee (Chief Creative Officer for DC), and executed the series. In addition, I also produced a range of social and print assets.

THE BATRADIO

The Batradio forms the central concept of the series, harkening back to the days of old radio serials.

I designed and modelled the hero prop to serve as the focal point of our scenes, infusing it with an aesthetic reminiscent of the classic 'Batman: The Animated Series'. The design even features my own batsymbol and a subtle bat motif in the speaker grate.

DYNAMIC ANIMATION

To bring the project to life, I leveraged tools like Houdini and Cinema 4D, I created visual points that responded to audio cues, making it seem as though the scenes were happening live around the radio.

BUILDING GOTHAM

24 unique scenes were constructed to narrate the season's storyline, some with changing visual phases to match the story's progression.

I collaborated with DC to design iconic locations like the Batcave and Amusement Mile in my unique style.

AUDIO IN PRINT

The series saw the creation of a special comic book as a prequel, earning me a cover artist credit for a variant from DC.

A full series has since been printed, bridging the two seasons that still uses the logo I designed.
